I'm FINALLY home!! Gosh, I've been gone for an eternity. Not really. It was only 5 days, but being away from my cute husband for that long feels like an eternity to me. Ok, I saw him 3 of those days I was gone. But still. Any day away from him is too much time.
I left last week and went to Norman to stay at the college apartment, fed the kids, and then took off for Dallas with my friends. Then turned around and went back to Norman to the apartment, fed the kids. Then I found out that one of my oldest friends died. By oldest, I mean, we've been friends for a really long time. But she was literally my oldest friend as well. She was 97. She spent a lot of time with me when I was growing up. When my mom and dad would leave town or go on vacations she would come and stay at the house with me. Even when I was old enough to stay by myself I'd still have her come stay with me. Mable is her name. She would get mad when someone would say she babysat me. She'd tell them "no I don't babysit we are friends." And friends we were! I feel like I could write a book about Mable and her husband Vance. He was a World War ll Veteran and had some of the highest honors a soldier could have, including the Purple Heart.
Like I said, I could write a book about them. They have had such a huge impact on my life. Mable took me to Church with her and cried the day I asked to be saved. They taught me about trees, plants, herbal remedies, cooking, birds, Native Americans, and so much more.
I am truly a better person for having known both of them.
I'm a wife and mom! That about sums me up! I am blessed to be married to my best friend for 28 years now. I have 2 great kids that are grown! My hobbies include: Cooking, photography, gardening, reading, painting, and pottery, and feathering my nest!
