I think I'm close to breaking my previous record for taking photos daily for the 365 challenge! whoop whoop!!!
Today I took a short little road trip with Carrie back up to Joplin to get this sign.
I love this sign so much! I wanted to stop the other day when I was in Joplin and get a photo but I didn't. I knew I could talk Carrie into going back with me. Today when we drove up we ended up behind every slow car in the state of Missouri. When we finally arrived there was a barricade across the parking lot of this old motel. Its been closed for many many years. But today there was a sign that said "Do not enter. K-9 Training in progress." And sure enough there were cops with a big beautiful German Shepherd. You could tell they were not too thrilled that we'd pulled up but I explained that we'd driven an hour from Grove, Oklahoma just to take a picture of this sign. Can you imagine what he was thinking?? He was probably thinking he needed to have that dog sniff out my car! Crazy ladies have arrived!!! Anyway, we ended up getting our photo and they were glad to see us go, I'm sure.
I am wanting to start taking some Route 66 photos. We have so many historic places here in Oklahoma that are on the route. I really need to take advantage of being so close in proximity to them. Wouldn't that be fun?
I got home and decided to put my macro lens on my old camera and get some photos for the "light and shadows" theme for the 365 project. In the summer there is so much to choose from but in the winter... there is not much out there! But this grass is in the back yard by the pool and the sun was shining through it so I snapped some photos.
Then there was this sedum that's in a planter in a flower bed.
Of these two photos I'd decided that the grass would be my photo of the day, so I came inside and was uploading the photos and Joe said "look out back." and this is what we saw.
The pelicans were swimming in our cove fishing. I love how they fish together and help corral the fish to catch them. Joe told me this should really be my photo of the day and I had to agree! Anytime there are pelicans and a sunset involved it trumps dried grass.
I hope everyone has had a great week!
Life is good!!!
