It's been such a strange and fun weekend! We started off with folks filtering in for the weekend. My lifelong best friend arrived first and then later my son. Meanwhile, our dog gets ill suddenly and really appeared to have been poisoned. After a frustrating call to our local vet's office my husband loaded her up in the car and rushed her down to their office (even though they said they wouldn't see her) and before he could get there they called me back and told us to bring her on in. The secretary had spoken to the vet and the vet wanted to see the dog. Good thing because they were about to anyway!
After a long visit to the vet Coco came home pumped full of meds and IV fluids. She was hyped completely up because of the drugs they gave her. So she barked for the rest of the day. It was horrible to watch because you know she couldn't help it. Needless to say she was the focus for the rest of the day. That night after the football game our girls headed this way. They were excited to be at the lake and were looking forward to a day or two of fun in the sun. We woke up yesterday to rain and 71 degree temperatures! But thankfully, it cleared off around noon and we proceeded to go out on the lake and have fun. I think we went out at the same time the rest of Grand Lake went out. It was crazy busy!
It's been so fun having the kids home this weekend and I'm not looking forward to them leaving. It will be another three weeks before we get together again. At least I'm going to TRY to give them three weeks before I push myself upon them!
This morning I've got a new breakfast casserole cooking and I'm sitting here sipping on some coffee. If this recipe turns out I'll have another one to share with you. I do have flops occasionally... let's hope this isn't one of them!
I hope everyone has had a blessed weekend!
I'm a wife and mom! That about sums me up! I am blessed to be married to my best friend for 28 years now. I have 2 great kids that are grown! My hobbies include: Cooking, photography, gardening, reading, painting, and pottery, and feathering my nest!
