Am I really an every 6 month blogger? I'm on my own nerves. I can't believe I haven't kept up. I also stopped my 365 photography challenge during the move. I'm really not a quitter people. Really… I took 241 photos. Just half short of my year long goal.
It reminds me of a joke my friend Ron told yesterday.
2 Things you should know about me:
1. I'm lazy.
2. ….. uh…. one is enough.
haha, get it?
I have turned into a busy person. When we lived in our small town in our small home on the lake I stayed home all the time. I fancied myself a loner. A person who kept themselves entertained with little projects, a cook, a provider of comfort and joy. I really could stay home for days on end. Sometimes going a week at a time without really feeling the need to leave. As long as someone would bring me groceries, etc. I was fine with being snowed in or just being there.
Here I am today waiting on the local cable company to come work on my internet and I'm thinking "half the day is done, my chores are done and I'm chomping at the bit to go!"
The real question is go where? I don't work. I haven't worked as a nurse in years. I'm still the same person who likes little projects, and cooking, and providing comfort and joy. aren't I?
I think I'm slowly getting settled in the new home. Most of my rooms are semi- put together. I admit I have a set of matching candle sticks and one is in my dining room where I intend to keep them and the other is in the basement on a shelf. I'm too lazy to go get it and set it up.
But I've been here long enough that I've decorated rooms, put out Christmas decorations, put them back up, re-decorated and rearranged.
We started a swimming pool last fall and finished it in the early spring. We built a little greenhouse out of a kit and it's still standing! We cleared out dead trees, chopped wood, planted more trees and wildflower seeds, and countless shrubs and flowers from local nurseries.
I've taken in a dear friend who was in a domestic abuse situation and helped her get on her feet. So I now have a young mother, her baby, and her dog in my home. There is constant activity here. I get to actually babysit every now and then which I love doing. They have been a complete joy in our lives.
Every day my routine is pretty much the same and my new routine is BUSY. I have been loving being on the road! I love shopping for things (not buying just shopping).
Our community here in Joplin is very nice. I really hadn't been familiar with places off the beaten path. I've had a great year finding local restaurants and stores and meeting people. I love the pride this community has. They love their town!
I've been working on my list of projects for the fall and I'm wondering. Should I add blogging to my list?
I'm a wife and mom! That about sums me up! I am blessed to be married to my best friend for 28 years now. I have 2 great kids that are grown! My hobbies include: Cooking, photography, gardening, reading, painting, and pottery, and feathering my nest!
