This new chapter of my life is in the big woods. Even though I moved only an hour away from where we lived on the lake, the scenery is very different. The trees here are very tall. We are now on 12 acres, which isn't huge, but it's enough for us to roam around. The Aussies are LOVING it. We do too. In addition to the change of scenery, our home is very different from our last home. I'll show you more of that later but we do use wood to heat our home, so some of our activities include things like chopping wood.
Ty is shown here splitting some wood. "Who is Ty?" you may ask, Ty is a friend and co-worker of Joe's. He's just a few years older than our kids and quickly become a member of our family, just like another kid. Someone to feed! ( Which fulfills my nurturing needs you know.)
This is what our new home looks like.
In moving to a town that a huge F5 tornado has hit we were looking for a fortress to move into. A home that was solid-built, maybe split level, and with a safe room. This home definitely fit that bill. We had thought we would end up downsizing but that just didn't happen.
With the move I've been sorting through years of goods I've collected. I've been trying to set up the house and then rearranging. I've hosted Thanksgiving, and stayed home for Christmas. We've also worked on our property taking out dead trees, started building a pool, and more. I've dropped the ball with my 365 project which broke my heart because I was half way through the year! I also stopped taking pictures much at all and blogging fell off the map.
I'm excited to be back in the game. I was laying in bed the other night thinking about recipes and ideas to share with friends and that brought me back around. It will be fun to share food ideas with you all again!
Life is still good! :)
