This post is going to be in Crimson to celebrate baby girl's move in day! We knew yesterday that we were either going to have storms today or it was going to be hot. So we decided to get this move going EARLY. I say early but really they started registration at 8:00 am. We walked right up and got checked in, got room keys, and began to move it within minutes. I don't know how I knew, but I figured there would be stairs involved. Sure enough! And moving a girl is sooooooooooo different from moving a boy. We had 2 clear plastic storage bins just for... you can probably guess... SHOES.
My girl took all the heavy stuff. She wouldn't let me near it. She's a good egg. Just going up those flights of stairs empty handed will leave you panting. There were some trips we'd make it to the room and drop whatever we were carrying and just stand there bent over waiting for our hearts to stop pounding. Why is it stairs in real life are so much harder than the machines in the gym? After we got everything in the room and began to unpack and put away her belongings it got really dark outside. We just beat the rain! I feel bad for those people that were still registering. What a mess!!! It not only poured but was coming down sideways in sheets. It's one of those rain storms that is impossible to stay dry!
By 10:00 am we'd eaten lunch and were shopping! :) I predict a nap will be in my near future.
Everyone here has been so friendly. It is so refreshing! And I'm proud to say that chivalry isn't dead. Nice young men open doors for ladies!
I know everyone is wondering if I've cried yet and how I'm holding up. I really am fine. For one thing we're still together. :) There is a student/parent meeting at Lloyd Noble Center at 3:30 so for now, I'm good. I'm good. (convinced?)
I'm a wife and mom! That about sums me up! I am blessed to be married to my best friend for 28 years now. I have 2 great kids that are grown! My hobbies include: Cooking, photography, gardening, reading, painting, and pottery, and feathering my nest! I have a project going at all times!
